WAIT AND SEE PEOPLE - GIADA BIAGGI, MINA PIZZO AND VITTORIO #CATCHMEIFYOUCAN WAIT AND SEE PEOPLE - GIADA BIAGGI, MINA PIZZO AND VITTORIO #CATCHMEIFYOUCAN

SHOP THE STORY

‘CATCH ME IF YOU CAN’ is an ode to individuality. At Wait and See, we aim to satisfy everyone’s needs and aspirations via our varied, highly curated and inclusive range of products. For this reason, for our FW22 Campaign, we have involved members of the same family as testimonials of the fact that genetic heritage and generational gaps do not necessarily forge individuals to make similar choices, often it is more the opposite. We are delighted to introduce GIADA BIAGGI, MINA PIZZO and VITTORIO.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO IN LIFE?Hi, I'm Giada Biaggi, I'm a Screenwriter, a Stand-Up Comedian and a Novelist living in Milano with VITTORIO, my Brainy Cocker Spaniel.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO IN LIFE?Hi my name is Mina, I live in Legnano and I have been working at a perfume and cosmetics retailer for 20 years now, where I am a Make-Up Artist, Beauty Consultant and Window Dresser.I also do merchandising - but my main role is that of Make-Up Artist. I do bridal make-up and hold in-store make-up courses with personalised tutorials. I love my job and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.

GIADA, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUM’S STYLE?My Mum's style is definitely tacky - sequins and glitter. She is an 80’s Showgirl who shaves a bit too much by today's standards and who always wears make-up.I am totally the opposite: I am a bit Virginia Woolf, a bit Alexa Chung. I call my style 'Shabby-Tyrolean Post Punk'. Can you tell? I don't know, but that’s it!

MINA, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DAUGHTER'S STYLE?Well, I'm from a different generation and I didn't really understand my daughter's style at first... It is a bit contradictory: sometimes sexy, sometimes inspired by a runaway mountaineer. However, I really like it because it reflects her personality and I find it works on her!

GIADA, DO YOU HAVE A FUNNY ANECDOTE ABOUT YOUR MUM?I have a lot of funny anecdotes about Mum, one in particular - when I came home after my university exams, (I was a nerd and I was doing really well), the first things she always said to me were: “Did you go to the exam dressed like that? Why didn't you paint your nails? Come on, couldn’t you have applied a bit more make-up?”I mean, she was consistently interested in my beauty routine... But I have to say that she was very sweet to me at all times because I used to constantly fret about my grades.Once I came home, having only just passed a test, (I couldn't count the chocolates in a maths problem), and my mum said it was ok and took me to McDonald's.MINA, DO YOU HAVE A FUNNY ANECDOTE ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER?A funny episode about Giada, that has really stuck with me, was during our first flight together to Tunisia when she was as a little girl (3 years old). She was completely focused on a colouring book given to her by the captain and disregarded everything that was going on around her: take-off, the flight, and the view.It was funny to see how much her attention had been captured by colouring in images, rather than by her first plane ride.

GIADA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

My favourite colours are yellow and sage green.

Yellow is my favourite childhood colour; I remember I didn't want to give yellow crayons to anyone, I don't know why I had a chromatic identity appropriation towards that colour.

Sage green, on the other hand, is the colour I prefer as an adult. It is very chic and you never get tired of it, I have sage green walls at home and I love them.

MINA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

In general, I love all colours, however, my favourite colour is blue because it reminds me of the sea, which I adore.

When I am dancing Tango I must wear red lipstick.

GIADA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK?

That is a difficult question to answer... My favourite book is 'The Farewell Waltz' by Milan Kundera (the author of the best seller 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being').

For me, 'The Farewell Waltz' is his true masterpiece. It is a book about love and the fact that the beginning of love is already its end. It is very poetic and he is a great writer.

MINA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK?I must admit that I am not a big reader, I read very little... I have other hobbies! However, I always get advice from Giada, who is an avid reader. The last book she recommended and that I really liked was ‘The Enduring Kiss’ by Massimo Recalcati.Since I am an incurable romantic, all these theories on love really appealed to me!

GIADA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG?

My favourite song is 'Romeo and Juliet' by Dire Straits because, even though I am cynical on stage, I actually dream of my Romeo. I really like the version that the Killers did of this song.

My favourite line is: 'Juliet, when we made love you used to cry'. It really is a crazy poem, but unfortunately, we live in 2022 where poetry is dead…

MINA, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG?

I am a tango and salsa dancer but my favourite music will always be Italian! My favourite songs are by singer-songwriters, and they are many, but the one that always moves me is 'A Mano a Mano' by Rino Gaetano.

GIADA, WHO IS THE PERSON YOU FIND MOST INSPIRING?The person that inspires me the most at the moment is definitely Phoebe Waller-Bridge: author and screenwriter of the TV series 'Fleabag'. I like her a lot because she is a very Indie comedian, who has entirely written and starred in the series (which is what I would like to do one day). She is a role-model of contemporary femininity and is also very stylish: a truly emancipated woman who has managed to buy her own house! “Phoebe Waller-Bridge, I love you so much!”

MINA, WHO IS THE PERSON YOU FIND MOST INSPIRING?The character that has inspired me the most is Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker from the TV series 'Sex and The City'.I feel very similar to her in the way she thinks and sees life. I really like her extravagance, since I am also a very vain, fashion-conscious and extravagant.
