Wait and See People - Chiara Guidi #RememberToPlayWait and See People - Chiara Guidi #RememberToPlay

We are delighted to introduce our next #WaitAndSeePeople Chiara Guidi, Art Critic and Exhibition Curator.
What does 'Remember to Play' mean to her?

#RememberToPlay is, for me, doubtlessly a synonym for irony - a great aspect that belongs to the Avant-Garde since Da Vinci’s Scapigliata.

In fact, I believe that the rebellion against traditional culture and nonconformity - in all of its forms - is what characterises us not only for being Avant-Garde, but also as a means of exploration.

We can see this throughout the years from the late 19th century with the Scapigliatura Movement up to the great Dada 'Sberleffo' moment.

Being complicit with that irony has led us to the second Avant-Garde movements with the likes of Fluxus and all the subculture movements of the 80’s such as Punk.

I think that in this era, we still have to ride it in order to maintain our uniqueness.
